Our researchers are volunteer university students from across Türkiye. They research blood donation topics and turn them into content checked by experts.

How to become a researcher

Everything Kan Akademi publishes is researched by volunteer students and checked by experts. Here is how one piece of research goes from idea to publication, with a real example: Elif’s article on blood types.

  1. step 1: Apply

    Volunteers fill in a short online application form. Our researchers are university students from many different fields, not only medicine.

    Today54 researchers are part of our team.

  2. step 2: Pick a topic

    We send you a list of open topics about blood donation. You choose one, and together we agree on a deadline.

    ExampleElif chose: “Why is knowing your blood type so important?”

  3. step 3: Research and write

    You read reliable scientific sources and turn what you learn into a short, clear text that anyone can understand, without medical jargon.

    ExampleElif found a study of 3,479 blood donors in Mersin, Türkiye: 906 of them had their own blood type wrong.

  4. step 4: Expert review

    Nothing is published unchecked. An academic or health professional who works in that field reviews your text for accuracy.

    ExampleElif’s text was reviewed by Dr. Z. Kübra Yılmaz, one of our advisors, who teaches clinical pharmacy.

  5. step 5: Filming (optional)

    If you like, you can also appear in a short video about your topic. We plan the filming together. This step is up to you.

  6. step 6: Publication

    Your work is published on our website and social media with your name on it, and you join our team of researchers.
